LinkedIn is expanding its podcasting efforts. It is launching a podcast network that will include in-house episodes from the LinkedIn News team as well as programs from industry players.
Unsurprisingly, the shows are aimed towards a professional audience. Understanding technology, managing mental health, and explaining the employment process are among the topics they cover. Reid Hoffman, LinkedIn‘s co-founder and executive chairman, will co-host The Start-Up of You, a podcast on personal entrepreneurship that will launch this spring.
The LinkedIn Podcast Network, according to the company, is a pilot that builds on the success of Hello Monday, a podcast created by LinkedIn News in which host Jessi Hempel digs into the changing nature of work. The broadcasts are ad-supported, with Verizon, serving as the inaugural sponsor.
The podcast network integrates with LinkedIn’s other offerings, such as newsletters, live events, videos, and posts, to allow hosts and viewers to continue conversations outside of the episodes. If listeners follow the hosts and subscribe to their newsletters, they will be able to access the podcasts directly on LinkedIn. The podcasts will also be accessible on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other podcast services.
