Indian fitness platform Ultrahuman is expanding its wearable gadget range into revolutionary technology by introducing an unprecedented smart ring that tracks metabolic health. In addition to tracking users’ metabolism, the ring can measure movement which enables the device to track the wearer’s sleep quality, stress levels, and activity density.

The ring is designed to work in combination with Ultrahuman’s existing wearable, CGM, which is a sensor-based continuous glucose monitor. Branded as ‘Cyborg’ the device conjuncts with the Ring to enhance the quality of the insights for users. For instance, identifying when a poor glucose response might be linked to a bad night’s sleep or elevated stress levels – instead of just focusing on what the user ate right before their sugar level surged up.

Ultrahuman Ring is not a CGM but can function as a standalone health tracker. Built to endure rough unsafe conditions during workouts, the Ring’s outer surface is made of titanium coated with tungsten carbide. To make it comfortable during sleep and rest, it has a smooth inner shell as well. The sleek, clean look of the ring band (which comes in a shiny meta titanium or black finish) is also likely to fit in with fashion-conscious users.

“We have always believed in the power of biomarkers in terms of their ability to make health optimization more efficient. With the Ultrahuman ring and a new suite of metabolic biomarkers, you can now understand not just what’s affecting your glucose metabolism but also how to act on the insights in an efficient way. For example, you could figure out how much of your glucose metabolism is affected by the lack of sleep vs the food itself. This is a phenomenal leap in the world of biomarkers and allows us to study various factors around human health in a unique and much more impactful way than ever,” said Mohit Kumar, founder, and CEO of Superhuman.

The Ultrahuman Ring will be globally available for pre-orders starting July 7 2022 and the company says it will start shipping the devices from August 2022. Although the pricing of the ring has not yet been confirmed by the company, they have announced that there will be two options – one premium package that covers lifetime usage and another monthly subscription option with a small lock-in period.
