ChatGPT Rolls out Google Drive Integration, Powerful Analytics, and More

OpenAI has announced in a recent blog post that ChatGPT will now allow Google Drive and OneDrive integration. The new integrations offer enhanced data analysis features with the support of the GPT-4o model, which was unveiled quite recently.

Note that this feature is only available to paying users as of now. OpenAI claims that those with access can add their Google Drive and OneDrive files directly to the chatbot without having to download it first.

Users of ChatGPT Plus, Enterprise, and Teams will only need to grant the chatbot access to their Google Drive or OneDrive account to use this feature. According to the blog post by OpenAI, ChatGPT can now read Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google equivalents “more quickly” as a result of the integration. However, you can only access the enhanced data analytics feature through the faster and more enhanced GPT-4o – which powers the chatbot’s paid version.

Additionally, ChatGPT’s comprehension of datasets from natural language instructions was also enhanced by OpenAI. The chatbot can be programmed to perform analytics tasks in Python, combine or clean datasets, and generate charts from data in files.

The charting capabilities of ChatGPT have also advanced significantly. Now that the tables and charts have been generated, users can engage with them, broaden their views, and personalize the visualizations by altering the colors, posing queries about particular cells, and more. At the moment, the chatbot creates static versions of unsupported chart types and supports interactive bar, line, pie, and scatter plot charts.

Additionally, OpenAI has highlighted that user data will remain secure. Users of ChatGPT Enterprise and Teams will not have their data used for AI model training, and ChatGPT Plus subscribers can choose not to have their data used for this purpose.
