Apple Intelligence is set to make its debut next month. The company has announced that its cutting-edge AI platform will roll out to iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks with the release of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1 in October. This advanced AI will be available exclusively on Apple’s latest and most powerful devices, such as the iPhone 15 Pro, the upcoming iPhone 16 models, and MacBooks and iPads equipped with M-series chips.
Initially, Apple Intelligence features will be available only in US English. Support for English in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the UK is expected to follow in December. Additionally, the platform will expand to other languages—Chinese, French, Japanese, and Spanish—starting next year.
One of the exciting new Apple Intelligence features coming your way is the Writing Tools, designed to enhance your text in Mail, Notes, Pages, and even in third-party apps. These tools can rewrite, proofread, and summarize your content, making writing easier and more efficient. Additionally, the Memories feature will transform how you create movies in Photos—simply type a description of the images you’re seeking, and it will help you compile them into a stunning movie. You’ll also be able to search for specific photos and videos using natural language, making organization effortless. Plus, the Clean Up tool allows you to effortlessly remove background objects from your images without affecting the rest of the photo.
Apple’s upcoming features will enhance your productivity and streamline your daily tasks. With the new recording feature in Notes and Phone, you can effortlessly capture, transcribe, and summarize audio. For example, if you start a recording during a call, Apple Intelligence will provide a concise summary once the call ends. Additionally, a new Focus feature called “Reduce Interruptions” will prioritize only the notifications that require immediate attention. In Mail, the Priority Messages function will ensure that time-sensitive emails rise to the top based on their content, while summaries of key information from your emails will be readily available across your inbox. You’ll also benefit from Smart Reply, which identifies questions in your emails and suggests concise responses, making it easier to reply promptly.
Apple promises that its upcoming AI advancements will enhance Siri, making it more intuitive and seamlessly integrated across its platforms. The voice assistant will soon better understand your queries, even if you stumble or stutter, and will follow your thoughts even as you switch between text and voice inputs. Additionally, Apple plans to roll out more AI features in the coming months, including one that generates images based on context when you highlight an empty area and another that creates custom emojis (or “Genmoji”) from your text descriptions.
