Amazon has been steadily introducing new AI tools into its platform. The company’s most recent AI feature aims to make life easier for advertisers.
Amazon introduced Video Generator at its Accelerate conference. After a period of processing, Video Generator converts a single product image into a video presentation for that product.
According to the company, the tool can create “custom,” AI-generated videos that can showcase its features effectively. The new video tool will allow advertisers to create “content-rich” videos that highlight the features and unique selling proposition of their products.
“Using a single product image, Video generator instantly creates custom, AI-generated videos that showcase a product’s features. These videos leverage Amazon’s unique retail insights to vividly bring a product story to life in ways that are relevant to customers. Now sellers will be able to reimagine the limits of their creativity, while bringing shoppers a more engaging and informative advertising experience,” reads the company’s latest blog post.
The AI video generator can produce six to nine-second videos at 720p resolution and 24 frames per second (fps), an Amazon representative told TechCrunch. It has been reported that making these videos can take up to five minutes and that each iteration yields four different versions for viewers to select from.
It’s unclear if users can add text prompts in natural language for specific directions or if there are other ways of doing the same. Furthermore, there are no instructions about editing a video that has already been generated.
Additionally, the company upgraded its AI picture generator to include a live image feature targeted at enterprise clients. With the help of AI, users can now create brief, animated campaign images. These are identical to animated GIFs. Currently, both tools are available in beta.
