
The Firefox Focus browser for Android now has an additional layer of privacy protection. To combat cross-site tracking, Mozilla is introducing its Total Cookie Protection feature to its app.
The function collects cookies from each website you visit and stores them in “cookie jars.” Separately storing cookies should help prevent them from following you across the web and supplying firms with data about your browsing activity, such as details about the items you look for and sites you visit. This data may be utilized for a variety of purposes, including ad targeting.
Total Cookie Protection is a major weapon in Mozilla‘s long-running struggle against web tracking. In June, the organization activated the functionality by default when privacy mode is enabled in Firefox proper, as part of a browser makeover.
Since Firefox Focus includes privacy measures by default, it seems reasonable to include Total Cookie Protection. According to Mozilla, this is the first time the feature has been added to the Firefox mobile browser.
Many websites include files that are housed on several servers. Mozilla is using SmartBlock and other features to avoid concerns created from isolating cookies with Total Cookie Protection. According to the company, they assist prevent websites from malfunctioning – SmartBlock substitutes widely disabled trackers, allowing websites to function normally.
