Ahead of its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) scheduled for June 10, Apple hosted a virtual event called “Let Loose” on May 7, 2024. The event was centered around iPads, with a bunch of new releases on the way.
For a while now, there have been rumors that Apple will likely update the iPad Pro and iPad Air with M3 and M2 chips in May, respectively, in a few different sizes. This prediction came true as Apple announced the upgraded 11-inch and brand-new 13-inch iPad Air, powered by the M2 chip.
Along with the new accessories, there was a display of accessories including the Apple Pencil Pro, which features haptic feedback and built-in Find My, as well as the Magic Keyboard, which adds a function row to make using your tablet feel more like a laptop.
Updates to the software feature new AI-powered functions as well as a Final Cut Camera app to facilitate multi-camera productions.
“Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 transforms the iPad into a multicam production studio with Live Multicam, giving users the power to speed up their shoot by allowing them to connect and preview up to four cameras all at once, all in one place,” Apple said.
“So many users — from students, to content creators, to small businesses, and more — love iPad Air for its performance, portability, and versatility, all at an affordable price. Today, iPad Air gets even better,” said Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Product Marketing in the company’s latest blog post. “We’re so excited to introduce the redesigned 11-inch and all-new 13-inch iPad Air, offering two sizes for the first time. With its combination of a brilliant Liquid Retina display, the phenomenal performance of the M2 chip, incredible AI capabilities, and its colorful, portable design with support for new accessories, iPad Air is more powerful and versatile than ever,” he concludes.
Finally, Apple debuted Logic Pro, which offers cutting-edge professional experiences for beat-making, mixing, producing, and songwriting on the iPad 2 and Mac 11.
With the help of artificial intelligence, the new Logic Pro offers amazing studio assistant features that enhance the creative process and offer artists support when required all while preserving their creative autonomy.
