The new Last Seen WhatsApp feature has finally rolled out as an upgrade to beta users, which includes a new privacy option as well as the ability to conceal your Last seen status on WhatsApp from select contacts. Now you can add those annoying people on your list who used to say that they saw you online on WhatsApp.
It’s a great method for your friends and family to keep a watch on the messaging platform and know when you were last using it. This is especially crucial when you are unable to respond to people but they may see that you have not been using WhatsApp for some time. It merely makes it easier to explain why you weren’t using the app.
The current option in testing requires you to politely block most people on your contact list.
Since users will be able to hide their Last Seen status from certain contacts using this feature, this is a great change from the present set of options given to WhatsApp users. The most crucial aspect of this WhatsApp feature is the level of control it will provide users.
According to sources, WhatsApp is planning to include a similar “My contacts except…” feature for the Profile photo and About settings.
After the latest beta update, the new privacy setting isn’t available for the Profile photo and About WhatsApp choices, so it might take time.
Also, keep in mind that if you don’t share your Last Seen, you won’t be able to see other people’s Last Seen as well.
