Wondering where you left your AirPods Pro? Apple’s new feature can help you find it!
The latest firmware update to Apple’s AirPods Max and AirPods Pro brings a new feature to these devices – Find My Integration. After the update, you will be able to use the company’s Find My feature on your iPhone to detect and locate your missing earbuds or headphones.
Previously, the Find My feature was only able to locate your accessories if they were nearby, otherwise, it would only show their last known location. However, with the latest update, the feature has expanded its capability to work even outside the Bluetooth range and help you find your AirPods Max and AirPods Pro.
Although the feature was supposed to be rolled out along with the launch of iOS 15, it got delayed and was expected to go live ‘later this fall’ – just like numerous other features, like SharePlay.
So, how do you get this cool new firmware update for the AirPods Max or AirPods Pro? Currently, there is no direct way to force the update on your iPhone. However, the option will eventually show up if your headphones or earbuds are paired and connected to your iPhone.
To find out whether you have the latest update, connect your headphones to bud to your iPhone, open Settings – General – About – AirPods, and check the number that is next to the heading ‘Firmware Version’. If you see the version number as ‘4A400’, it means that your iPhone has the latest firmware version and you will be able to access the ‘Find My Integration’ feature. So, go ahead, give it a try!
