Old Google Pixel and new Pixel 6 smartphone users have a piece of happy news as they will receive a series of updates that will benefit both of them. To begin, the Pixel 6 Pro will include UWB (Ultra-wideband) functionality, which will allow you to instantly exchange photographs and other data via the Nearby Share function. As previously stated, Pixel 6 and 6 Pro users will also receive the digital vehicle key capability, which will allow them to unlock and start select BMW automobiles.
It doesn’t end there as there are other features for smartphones that will appeal to a broader audience. To begin with, the Quick Tap to Snap functionality allows Pixel 4a 5G and above users to access Snapchat immediately from their lock screens by double touching the rear of their phones. Until recently, the feature has been limited to the Pixel 6.
Meanwhile, users of Pixel 3 or newer devices will be able to choose how long they press the power button to activate Google Assistant. This function allows you to prevent accidentally activating the Assistant while you’re merely trying to switch off your phone, for example. Another important innovation for Pixel 3 (and higher) owners is the Bass Slider, which allows you to double the bass range of Pixel Buds A-series headphones, now from -1 to +4.
When a car collision is detected, Google will immediately communicate your position and data to emergency services. This feature is being expanded to Taiwan, Italy, and France. It has also included the “Now Playing” function, which allows you to recognize a song and immediately add it to your favorites. Finally, Google has expanded the list of languages that can be transcribed in the recorder app, adding Japanese, French, and German. All of these functionalities are now available on Pixel smartphones.
