OnePlus is preparing to unveil its next smartphone, and it appears like we won’t have to wait long to see it. According to co-founder and CEO Pete Lau, the OnePlus 10 Pro will be shown next month. “OnePlus 10 Pro, see you in January,” Lau posted on Weibo, as per reports.

If OnePlus does launch its new phone in January, it will be a departure from the company’s time routine. In recent years, it has released its flagship devices in March or April, usually after Samsung has shown the latest Galaxy S series phones.

According to rumors, OnePlus will simply show a single phone this time around, rather than the customary practice of releasing a base model and a pro device. OnePlus has always followed up flagship products with a T-series model, but it has opted not to produce a 9T this year.

Lau previously stated that the 10-series handsets would be powered by a new Android 13-based operating system that OnePlus will share with Oppo. This year, the two companies legally joined under the control of BBK Electronics, with OnePlus becoming a sub-brand of Oppo.

Through unofficial renders, leakers have already provided a glimpse at the next OnePlus phone. OnePlus appears to be returning to Hasselblad cameras, while the OnePlus 10 Pro screen is said to have a 6.7-inch QHD+ display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Earlier this month, Lau announced that the upcoming device will employ the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU.
