AI wearables are having a moment right now. They come in a lot of different forms – wristbands, glasses, rings, necklaces, you name it and they probably make it.
Plaud NotePin is the latest AI wearable device that is making headlines. The company first got on the radar after gaining TikTok fame for its AI-powered recording app. Now, they’ve come out with a wearable device that can be worn in several ways, including as a necklace, tie-pin, wrist strap, and more.
The key feature of NotePin is that it can record everything that is spoken around it. If that seems familiar, it’s because Limitless came out with a similar AI wearable earlier this year.
Following the recording, NotePin’s AI transcribes the data, which can be saved in over 20 professional template types and many more custom template formats. Additionally, the AI-powered system creates an overview of the conversation to highlight the key points of discussion.
“NotePin is crafted for the dynamic professional on the move. Its lightweight, wearable design ensures that it stays with you, ready to capture every moment. NotePin is designed so you don’t miss anything—important insights, client feedback, or your next great idea,” reads the company’s blog post that compares Plaud Note and NotePin.
Plaud touts the device as a means of recording and summarizing all your events. The device turns on with a tap and the company claims that its battery can record continuously for up to 20 hours.
Once the transcription has been saved, users can search and find the information they need. According to Plaud, even while the device is saved on the cloud, users will still have total control over their data because all files have been end-to-end encrypted. Plaud provides users with a selection of AI models from a catalog as it lacks an in-house AI model. The company has already disclosed the availability of OpenAI’s GPT-4o and Claude 3.5 Sonnet.
The NotePin retails for $169 and is available for pre-order in the US. The base features are available to all users at no extra charge, while the more sophisticated AI features offered by Plaud, such as speaker labeling and summary templates, cost $79 per year.
