Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has announced that it is rolling back its newest full self-driving (FSD) beta after just one day. The reason is stated as some software issues. It has reissued an updated version after the brief weekend rollback.
His Tweet says, “Seeing some issues with 10.3, so rolling back to 10.2 temporarily. Please note, this is to be expected with beta software. It is impossible to test all hardware configs in all conditions with internal QA, hence public beta.”
As reported by The Verge, Tesla released its 10.3 FSD update to drivers on Saturday night (23-10-2021), but the Tweet stating its withdrawal came on Sunday afternoon. Their urgent revoke of the latest update less than 24 hours after it became available to drivers is said to be due to some issues with its prototype driver assistance software. After the brief weekend rollback, Tesla again rolled out Tesla FSD Beta 10.3.1 on 26-10-2021.
The latest Tweet states, “Sorry to Tesla beta users for the trouble! The issue turned out to be power saving mode interacting with FSD. Our internal QA fleet didn’t see this, because cars are constantly in use, so very rarely enter power saving mode. Internal QA will obv test this case going forward.”
As per some sources, the rollback was due to complaints reported by drivers about recurrent safety alert issues when there was no actual harm present.
All beta testers who received FSD Beta 10.3 will receive this newest FSD Beta as well. Tesla slowly rolls out the newest software to more cars and monitor it before releasing it to everyone.
