The Cintiq Pro 27 Drawing Display From Wacom Is The Company's First Featuring a 4K 120Hz Panel

The $3,500 Cintiq Pro 27 is Wacom’s most powerful drawing tablet for creatives to date. It boasts an all-new compact design, a 26.9-inch, 120Hz 4K reference touch display, and an all-new Pro Pen 3 with weight, balance, button arrangement, and thickness adjustments.

Given the significantly reduced bezels, the Cintiq Pro 27 is actually smaller than the Cintiq Pro 24. The ExpressKey buttons have also been relocated to the rear left and right sides, however they are now situated on the grips to make them easier to discover and operate.

Unlike earlier versions, which required an external monitor to observe proper colors, the new multi-touch display functions as a reference monitor on its own way. It employs a real 10-bit 4K panel rather than a dithered 8-bit panel, and it covers 99 percent of the Adobe RGB gamut and 98 percent of the DCI-P3 (HDR) gamut. It also features a peak brightness of 400 nits and runs at 120Hz for smooth and responsive sketching. Pantone SkinTone verified, it meets the Pantone standard for the whole range of human skin tones.

The new Pro Pen 3 can track twice as fast as previous versions thanks to the quicker refresh.The pen itself is also configurable, with swappable parts that allow users to modify the size, weight, center of gravity, and even the button arrangement. The battery-free electro-magnetic resonance technology provides 8,192 pressure levels and comes with five regular and five felt-tip nibs.
The Ergo Stand allows for 20 degrees of screen rotation as well as tilting functions, but it is not included and costs $500. If you choose, the monitor is also compatible with VESA mounting. The Cintiq Pro 27 is now available for $3,500 from Wacom and select retailers – a significant spend, but one that is more fair for a professional tool.
