Most Android phones will soon be sporting vibrant colors and a slew of new Google-centric design tweaks. Material You, first introduced at Google I/O last year, appeared to be Android’s most radical revamp in years, offering users plenty of new personalization and accessibility features. Users may change the color palette of their phone, move widgets around, and make other aesthetic and accessibility tweaks. Material You, on the other hand, was limited to Pixel phones and a few Samsung devices.

However, Material will be available soon. You’ll be available on a considerably broader range of new Android 12 phones, including those from Samsung, OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, realme, Xiaomi, and Tecno. The actual release dates have yet to be disclosed and will depend on the manufacturer, but they are expected to happen within the next few months. Material You will be available on Samsung’s new Galaxy S22 and S22 Ultra smartphones, which were also revealed this week.

Material You makes it far easier for Android phones to integrate into Google’s ecosystem, which is good. Google’s apps, like Gmail, Meet, and Drive, feature color palette modifications and other aesthetic adjustments to the phone itself. Material You has already been applied to a large portion of Google’s product collection.
