A new feature on TikTok now enables content creators to share their stories on Meta’s social media platforms, Facebook and Instagram. Since last year the feature has been in pilot. But now it is going to be officially launched to its rival social networks.
In the old format when the users tapped the share button on their stories, the only available option was to share their stories with their friends in the app. Now the same interface offers more options in a new row with the ‘copy link button’, and the ability to share on Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, and Instagram Stories.
This new feature will provide the popular video-sharing platform with increased visibility on Meta’s platforms, as the company works laboriously to outrank TikTok’s videos in Reels. Especially since Meta has advised its creators that it would prioritize original content on Reels across Facebook and Instagram. This means that its algorithms will be on the lookout for watermarks, such as that of TikTok.
The feature only recently started rolling out to TikTok users, so it may not be visible in your app just yet. Reposting TikTok Stories can be a new way for TikTok creators to share their work with followers on other social networks — without having to compete for attention with Reels.
TikTok stories started their global testing last August 2021, the same month Twitter removed their similar feature called Fleets. This was added to give the users more options for storytelling tools such as videos, Duets, Stitch, and LIVE as per the company.
Additionally, TikTok has introduced a new filter that generates Text-to-Image AI. Through this, a picture that you might haven’t seen yet will appear after you type phrases, words, or dates that are very important to you. To use this filter, type on the filter search bar, the “AI Green Screen,” and type the word or phrase to begin generating the photos that you want to see.
