Optimizing a router for your environment might be annoying, but TP-Link hopes to alleviate some of the agonies with a quirky new router. The Archer AXE200 Omni is a WiFi 6E device with four rotating mechanical antennae. The router will modify the antenna positioning based on the location and usage of WiFi devices to enhance the signal.
According to TP-Link, the Archer AXE200 Omni can give overall speeds of more than 10 Gbps. It features a tri-band configuration with a 6GHz band. If it performs as advertised, the router might enhance unstable WiFi connections across your home or provide a steady WiFi connection while you move about while streaming video on your phone.
In other news, TP-Link has released the Archer AXE300, its first quad-band router. According to the company, the gadget can give WiFi rates of up to 16Gbps. Having extra bands might potentially reduce network congestion. If your console or PC is too far away from the router to connect through Ethernet, you may set up a dedicated band, which should be beneficial for things like online gaming.
Furthermore, the Deco XE200 is the company’s most recent flagship mesh system. TP-Link says that with the support of WiFi 6E, it can offer rates of up to 11Gbps. A two-pack should be able to cover up to 6,500 square feet and connect over 200 devices.
All three of these router systems will have TP-Link HomeShield, which will provide users full control over their network as well as some level of protection. At CES, the company unveiled several more WiFi 6E devices, including the Deco Voice X50, which includes an integrated smart speaker, and a unit meant to expand a mesh network outside. All of these routers are expected to be ready in 2022.
