To keep your WhatsApp friends updated, you may not need to send messages to a group chat. A reliable source discovered code referencing an unannounced “Newsletter” feature in a recent WhatApp beta for Android. Although the specifics of how it works are unknown, it is a private space in the Status tab that allows you to share content with a large number of followers. By default, names and other contact information are hidden.
Another source said since this is the first beta to mention the Newsletter feature, it may not be ready for testing for some time. Furthermore, there is no guarantee that WhatsApp will release newsletters as a finished product.
It will not be surprising if this goes ahead. WhatsApp is both a messaging service and a source of information, with users frequently forwarding messages and receiving news via group discussions. Newsletters would greatly simplify the delivery of some of that information.
